Brooks Daverman led statewide efforts to change how healthcare is paid for in Tennessee. He did this primarily by helping align financial incentives across TennCare which pays Tennessee Medicaid benefits, as well as the state employee health plan and commercial payers. Empowering physicians and other providers with uniform incentives and care coordination tools across their patient panels was critical to the effort. Blake Marggraff suggests ways to improve engagement and outcomes for patients with chronic conditions under these incentives.
